This internationally recognised certificate course provides students with an excellent base of key design skills. The course focuses on developing Interior Design skills for the residential market - apartments, housing schemes and individual homes. The student will learn to develop innovative interiors design schemes for new build and existing dwellings and to solve design problems creatively. Students will gain a wide skill-set incorporating techniques such as surveying, sketch designing, technical drawing, conceptual designs, artistic rendering, and presentation in both print and digital media.

Students who complete The Higher National Certificate programme will:
Have a solid understanding of interior design theory and practice.
Have experience of real world interior design projects.
Have gained specialist interior design knowledge.
Have a portfolio of technical skills that will allow you seek work or advance in further education.
Have earned a recognized qualification.
The Course covers 8 units:
1. Drawing Techniques & Processes in Art and Design (including CAD)
2. Interior Design
3. Ideas Generation & Development
4. Contextual and Cultural Referencing
5. Professional Practice
6. Project Design, Implementation & Evaluation
7. Design Method
8. Visual Communication
Upon successful completion, students will be awarded the BTEC Higher National Certificate in 3D design. This is equivalent to Level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications for Ireland.
There are a range of further study options open to students who successfully complete the certificate programme including our Higher National Diploma in Interior Design and BA (Hons) Top-Up Degree.
