10-week Associate Certificate in Graphic Design
This comprehensive 10 week course introduces students to many of the key areas of graphic design, including illustration, idea development, typography, poster design, logo design and branding. Students use the industry-standard design software Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign to create imaginative promotional design work.
This course is ideal for those who have an interest in Graphic Design, whose who wish to explore the possibility of a career change, and those who would like to enhance their current skills with further professional development.
The course consists of lectures and studio sessions, and is assessed through a series of design projects and presentations.
Those who are solely interested in gaining software skills are advised to consider courses under the category of “desktop publishing”.

On successful completion of this course, students are awarded a Dublin Institute of Design Associate Certificate in Graphic Design, and a QQI (FETAC) Level 5 Component Certificate in Graphic Design (5N1978)
On successful completion, students have an impressive portfolio which showcases their varied graphic design skill set, including concept development, typography work, mood boards, poster design, logo design, branding, and stationery design.
On successful completion of this course, students may progress into the Term 2 of our 1-year Higher National Certificate in Graphic Design / 2-year Higher National Diploma in Graphic Design programmes.
Students who progress will be exempt from certain modules, the content of which they have already covered. A fee reduction will apply.
Applicants aged under 23 must have completed the Leaving Cert, or a comparable secondary school examination, or have another Level 5 Qualification.
Mature and non-standard applications are welcome.
This class is perfect if you are on the 50/50 on graphic design, this gives you enough material and knowledge to progress to something further or to become semi good at Adobe suite, I have picked up skills in this class I can forever use and good confidence to progress myself into intermediate level design. This is the perfect crash course for beginners.
