This comprehensive 10 week course introduces learners to many of the key skills used by practicing fashion designers, including concept development, fashion illustration, flat drawing, pattern drafting, and sewing techniques.
This course fosters high standards of creativity, and provides a stimulating and encouraging learning environment. The programme consists of lectures and studio sessions, and is assessed through a series of fashion design projects and presentations.

On successful completion of this course, learners are awarded a Dublin Institute of Design Associate Certificate in Fashion Design.
On successful completion, learners have some impressive portfolio pieces which showcase their varied skill set, and their ability to design an outfit from concept to completion.
On successful completion of this course, learners may progress into the 1-year Higher National Certificate in Fashion Design programme at Dublin Institute of Design, or into 1st Year of the 2-year Higher National Diploma in Fashion Design programme at Dublin Institute of Design.
Learners who progress will be exempt from certain modules, the content of which they have already covered. A fee reduction will also apply.
Applicants aged under 23 must have completed the Leaving Cert, or a comparable secondary school examination, or have another Level 5 Qualification.
Mature and non-standard applications are welcome.
