This dynamic programme is designed to provide a grounding in the fundamentals of Interior Decoration, enabling you to confidently apply your ideas and flair to your own home.
On completion of this course you will have the skills to confidently decorate rooms in your own home. The focus is on decorative elements such as colour schemes, soft furnishings, lighting, flooring and window treatments. Supplier information and scheduling is included to facilitate implementation of design schemes.
You will choose one room in your home to redecorate, and apply your new skills to bring together a cohesive interior design scheme.
The course is fully online, and all course materials will be available to download.
At the end of the course, you will have produced a design scheme for use in your own home.
You will also have attained the knowledge and competence to better understand how to undertake a design makeover in a residential setting.

Successful participants will be awarded a Dublin Institute of Design Certificate of Completion at the end of the course.
The course will give you a thorough introduction to the following areas:

- Furniture & room planning
- Window treatments
- Floor treatments
- Soft furnishings & accessories - finishing
- Mood and sample boards
- Room plan (final project)
This course focuses on visual design elements and does not cover technical/construction elements i.e. relocating plumbing and electrical services.
